Stephen C. H. Goh is the creative driving force behind Metaphor Studio. He started his designing career with Kennedy Bowen Associates after obtaining his Diploma with Distinction from Nangyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore in 1996. His passion in interior architecture and design is deepened when he was given the opportunity to perform as a Project Designer for ESPN (Asia), EverTecnologies, Honda Repsol showroom and Western Digital. Stephen also won several awards independently from Singapore Furniture Industry Council (SFIC)_1996, Society of Interior Designer, Singapore (SID)_1998, Home & Decor-Designer of the Year 1999, Nippon-Interior Design Category_2004 and Interior Designer Confederation of Singapore (IDCS)_2008
Partnering with Angela Tantry, they established Metaphor Studio in 2000 before Stephen pursued his BArch at University of Kentucky in USA. He graduated in 2006 with a Honor (magna cum laude) and was awarded the Student Honor Award by the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) and the Leonardo Ricci Traveling Honor Scholarship for his research program in Venice, Italy 2004/05. Thanks for all of his influential professors like Michael Rotondi (ROTO), Jose Oubrerie, Pucci R. Ricci and Daniel Libeskind whom have raised his rigorous standard in design conceptualization.
Stephen professional practice in architecture was uplifted when he spend summer internships with OMNI Architects and currently residing in Los Angeles, working as a Project Architect for the award winning architecture firm, Abramson Teiger Architects. His professional qualification includes LEED AP certified candidates and Associate Member of American Institute of Architects (AAIA). Stephen’s focusing strength merely on developing conceptual spaces that is highly experiential and responsive to its theoretical and physical context.
