Renovating this intermediate terraced house without a major revamp but required to retain its original layout has become a major challenge to express the quality of the occupant’s lifestyle, desired to ‘open-up’ the space. A European couple who patronized Chinese antiquity, desired to integrate their collection into a modern interior. Contemporary oriental characteristic has been keep minimal with a subtle definition of tactility from the slate wall veneer juxtaposing to a silky warm exuberant red wall covering which stretches from the entryway to the dining. This scheme compliment harmoniously with the elm wood construction of those antique furniture.
